The European Music Masterclasses offer a differentiated teaching, adapted to each pedagogical project. Teachers provide individual instrument courses, which may be supplemented by group sessions. Trainees can observe all the other courses, with the agreement of teacher concerned.

Pianists housed by the European Music Masterclasses have a piano working studio for two persons (about 6h/day each). Other instrumentists housed can practice at their lodging place (8 am to 10 pm daily). High-level accompanists are at their disposal. Pay attention, for reasons related to the size of premises, we can not provide working studios for not housed musicians who did not choose the option “Acces to working studios for not housed”. Trainees undertake to respect the usual rules of the Nancy conservatoire.

The European Music Masterclasses organize public concerts daily (auditorium with 300 seats) and public auditions by the end of the session.

You are a pianist housed by us (single studio, 2 beds studio or under 18 summer camp), access to piano working studios in the conservatoire is free (8 am to 8:45 pm, about 2 pianists/studio).

You are instrumentist or singer housed by us (single studio, 2 beds studio or under 18 summer camp), you can practice in your lodging place from 8am to 10pm.

You are not housed by us, access to piano working studios in the conservatoire is a charge of 80 € (8 am to 8:45 pm, about 2 pianists/studio).

Chamber music (free) - Sessions 1 & 2
Teaching is directed by teachers of the European Music Masterclasses. The European Music Masterclasses constitute the formations according to levels, ages and possible wishes of the trainees.
The participants are informed by mail during the month of June. They can then contact their partners to define their repertoire.

Piano-opera-lieder workshop (initiation and intensive) - Session 1
This class, directed by Maciej Pikulski, is intended to pianists, singers and piano-voice duets. The students will be able to look further into their interpretation, to improve their skills of interpreter and their scenic presence.
This option is available in two levels : initiation (+130 €) and intensive (+390 €).

Sight-reading ( +100 euros ) - Session 1
Maciej Pikulski propose an extensive workshop intended for the pianists, which aims to optimize the potential of each. Organized in group of two or three students, the sessions will approach the management of preparation, the principles of discovery of a work in a limited time, the opening of the sight, the knowledge of the keyboard through exercises and individual overviews.

Initiation to improvisation ( + 100 euros ) - Session 2
The workshop, directed by Philippe Macé or Cyrille Lehn, consisting in a 5 to 10 musicians group, this workshop provides simulation exercises using all available tools to express a collective and musical language from free improvisation to idiomatic improvisation. 4 lessons of 2 hours.

Ear training ( +100 euros ) - Session 2
This workshop directed by Elisa Grabowski is dedicated to all instruments. It will allow the students to develop the listening process, to deepen the diverse aspects of the sol-fa by approaching a varied repertoire and to prepare examinations of competitions. A specific work of intonation and sight-reading will be proposed to the singers.

Young soloist - Sessions 1 & 2
A number of Young Soloists will be selected by the director of the European Music Masterclasses and teachers to give four to five concerts (in museums, old people's homes, etc.) during the course. They will be allowed a reduction of 100 euros and will be able to follow their lessons as usual. If you would like to be considered for selection, please tick the box on the enrolment form and enclose a resume and suggested repertoire.

Cancellation insurance ( +20 euros) - Sessions 1 & 2
To register with serenity, the European Music Masterclasses offer a suitable cancellation insurance. Mutual Musicians Insurance, a specialized agency, guarantees the events that could force you to cancel your registration or to interrupt your training.
